Raoul de Chagny
I never really had much appreciation for Raoul until I saw the 2004 movie. In the past, I kind of felt like he got in the way of Erik and Christine, and that he was also a bit annoying. After seeing the movie, my opinion of the character changed. I was able to realize that he was kind, noble and obviously protective. It's hard not to respect and admire how he risked his own life to rescue Christine, and if I ever needed any help, I'd love to have a Raoul around to save me! :) When I saw the musical again, I was able to look at the character in a new light. I still favor the 2004 movie character, because I really loved Patrick Wilson's version of Raoul, but I have become a fan of Raoul overall.Please visit these links for information about Raoul or The Phantom of the Opera in general!
